It’s a goal!
A huge congratulations to all students who represented Stawell Primary School at Winter Sports. Our soccer, netball and football teams demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, teamwork and school PRIDE throughout the day. We are especially proud of our football team, who were crowned grand final champions and will now progress to regionals. We wish them all the best in the next stage of competition.
I would like to formally welcome Isobel Erkelens to the Stawell Primary School team. Isobel has joined us as an Education Support staff member and is working across a variety of classrooms, supporting both students and teachers. We are excited to have Isobel as part of our team and look forward to the valuable contribution she will make to our school.
We are also pleased to welcome back Sadie Reading from maternity leave. Sadie is currently working in Room 8 on Thursdays and Fridays, and it has been wonderful to have her back as part of our school community.
It has been wonderful to see some exciting improvements to our school grounds over the past fortnight. Our Prep and Grade 1/2 playgrounds have been resurfaced with new soft-fall rubber and synthetic turf, creating safer, more attractive play spaces for our students. The finished result looks fantastic, and we know our students will enjoy these upgraded areas for many years to come.
As part of our School Wide Positive Behaviour (SWPB) program, our focus over the past week has been on hallway expectations. Students have been explicitly learning and practising skills such as walking on the left-hand side, appreciating and respecting displays, and using an appropriate noise level. These lessons support our school-wide expectations of being a learner, being safe and being respectful, helping to create a calm and positive learning environment for everyone.
